The UOL Group, a Singapore-listed company, has achieved remarkable success at the EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards 2023, securing an impressive 12 awards for its condominium and hotel ventures. The pinnacle of their achievements was the coveted Top Developer of the Year Award.

“In our pursuit of excellence and success as a developer, we have always valued qualities such as passion, innovation, entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and sustainability,” emphasized Liam Wee Sin, the Group CEO of UOL Group, during his acceptance speech at the awards ceremony on October 6. “However, it’s essential to acknowledge that our success is a result of the collective efforts of numerous stakeholders, from consortium members to consultants, designers, contractors, suppliers, and real estate agencies.”

One project that particularly shone at the awards was Amo Residence, earning accolades in seven categories, including architectural design, landscape design, sustainability, innovation, marketing, and show flat design, ultimately clinching the prestigious Top Development Award.

Amo Residence, located at Ang Mo Kio Rise, achieved a remarkable milestone by selling 98% of its 372 units on its very first day of launch on July 23, 2022, at an average price of $2,112 per square foot. As of now, only two units remain available for purchase. This suburban condo, a joint effort by UOL Group, Singapore Land Group (SingLand), and Kheng Leong Co, is notable for its twin 25-story residential towers set amidst extensive greenery on a 99-year leasehold site spanning 136,481 square feet.

A significant portion of the site, over 60%, has been dedicated to landscaped gardens and top-notch facilities, including seven swimming pools, a tennis court, a clubhouse, and three function rooms. The residences facing north offer unobstructed views of Shangri-la Park private landed housing estate, Lower Peirce Reservoir, and Thomson Nature Park, while those facing south provide vistas of Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.

“The design of Amo Residence beautifully integrates architecture with reservoir-themed landscaping inspired by the surrounding natural beauty,” stated Liam. “Our emphasis on visual orientation towards Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and Lower Peirce Reservoir was a driving force behind its success.”

Another noteworthy winner of the Top Development Award was The Tre Ver, a 729-unit project along Kallang River, designed by the renowned architectural firm Woha. It stands out for seamlessly incorporating the natural landscape into the development, maintaining mature rain trees, and creating an open and inviting architectural design.

In addition to their residential ventures, UOL Group’s hotels also garnered recognition. The 347-room Pan Pacific Orchard on Claymore Road secured the Hotel Development Excellence Award, and the 575-room Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay was voted People’s Choice Award winner.

UOL Group’s commitment to green initiatives aligns with Singapore’s Green Transformation journey. Their hotels, including PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering and PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, have embraced themes such as “Hotel in a Garden” and “Garden in a Hotel.” This environmentally conscious approach extends to their luxury residential developments, such as Nassim Park Residences and MeyerHouse, which leverage their proximity to nature.

Looking ahead, UOL Group has exciting projects in the pipeline. Watten House, a freehold development in the prime Bukit Timah area, is set to make waves with its unique offering. Additionally, the acquisition of Meyer Park and a mixed-use development site in Tampines Street 11 reflects UOL’s commitment to delivering high-quality properties that cater to the evolving needs of residents and the community. The residential development at Tampines Street 11 is expected to launch in 2H2024, contributing to the supply of homes in the Outside Central Region (OCR).

As the residential market stabilizes, UOL Group’s future endeavors will be guided by market dynamics and the appeal of their product offerings within specific micro-markets, ensuring that they continue to deliver excellence in the real estate industry.
